Seuss on the Loose

(Ted Geisel aka Dr. Seuss shares a birthday with my Libby Doodle Doo - March 2nd). I loved Dr. Seuss as a kid and credit him with helping me learn to love to read. It's nice to know that Little Zo Peep's school is celebrating his birthday all week long.)

This week has been a busy one
Zo Peep thinks it’s been lots of fun

To celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss
And the joy of reading to introduce,
Her school has offered 5 themed days
Where silly clothing can be displayed

On Monday they read Oh the Places You Will Go
And represented places they’ve visited with their clothes

Tuesday was Cat in the Hat
You probably can deduce what they wore for that

Wednesday was a Wacky Wednesday theme
And Zo Peep created an outfit that went to the extreme

Today is crazy socks on her feet
As they read Fox in Socks – which is oh so neat

The week ends reading The Sleep Book
And the kids will wear PJ’s for a real nocturnal look

It’s nice to know that books that brought us joy
When we all were just a girl or boy
Are bringing smiles to a new generation
And giving them a great reading foundation.

VERY cute outfit! My daughter's school has similar celebrations going this week. Culminating with the snack of green eggs and ham tomorrow. :) I wonder how that will go over?!

Zo Peep's cafeteria served Green Eggs and Ham for lunch on Monday. She usually packs, but really wanted to buy this very special lunch.

Her assessment:

I do not like Green Eggs and Ham
I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.

I love the theme days. We celebrate by making green eggs and ham in our classroom but I think I am going to steal these days for next year!!
