Happy Holidays

Just wanted to put up a quick post to let everyone know that we're all ok and that I'm formally suspending the blog for now.

A quick update on my chicks:

Libby Doodle Doo is a firecracker -- all full of dazzling energy and joy.  She's expanding her vocabulary daily (sometimes with words that only I understand) and has moved confidently into toddlerhood.  Zo Peep is doing a great job being a big sister -- protective & instructive.  The two of them together are lovely to watch (well, most of the time -- like all siblings they both have their moments).

I'm still unemployed -- and that's the big elephant sitting in the corner of the room.  We're still ok financially -- at least for the next few months.  The job search has taken a lot out of me emotionally.  I have good days and bad days.  I'm trying to channel all of my energy into the girls and into the job search (struggling with that second area).  Right now, I don't have any spare energy left over to maintain the blog.  I hope to resume writing in the future when I'm on more stable ground.

I wish all of you a lovely holiday and the happiest of new years.

I'll leave you with some more photos of the girls taken in October by an amazing child photographer.  The photographer books sessions way in advance and I had pre-paid for a Fall photo session for the girls shortly before being notified that I was losing my job (lucky break).  I'm glad I followed through with the session.  I now have beautiful photos to mark the girls' first year as sisters.

Peace to all.  Theresa

So glad that you posted an update, and that you are all doing well.
It sounds like, despite the hardships and challenges of these months, you've done great at focusing on your lovely daughters and keeping a good perspective.
Blessings to you and your family in the New Year!

I am so glad I checked back ... and that you had left an update.
I don't know you at all ... just found your blog under "favorite sites" of some other folks' blogs. My daughter is single ... and hoping to get an adoption referral in the next few months now ....
I so enjoyed your blog after I stumbled upon it .... Your girls are beautiful. I've been concerned about your not posting. So, whether we know each other or not, I've been praying for you ... for grace to get through these difficult days ... and for your lovely daughters - that they are well and happy...and JUST LOOK AT THEM! Beautiful pictures you will treasure for a lifetime. Thank you for sharing.
I hope I find your blog again when you return ... and I wish you a blessed holiday season. May 2009see the "turn-around" in your employment status. I hope you don't think it presumptuous or invasive, but you will remain in my prayers.

I am so glad that you posted...had thought of you often. Have read you since before referral for Libby DD, and recognized that we are from the same city! Would love if you could share the name of the photog with me, as my girl is due for new prints (is turning four in just weeks! How did that happen?).

Take care.

Thanks for posting an update on your chicks....they are lovely. But I'm so sorry about your "elephant". I have one of those in my corner too!! I have never had any trouble finding a job and the discouragement is very hard to take. Praying that we'll BOTH dispatch our elephants very early in 2009!! Hope you're back soon.

Thanks to all of you who have left these meaningful and sincere well wishes for me and the girls. I suspect that I'll revisit this page if I'm having a bad day and these inspirational thoughts will -no doubt- rejuvenate my psyche .

One unforeseen and wonderful aspect of starting this blog is that I now feel connected with this wonderful network of extended family throughout the world who are all cheering on my little family.

Thank you all again for your kind words. Here's to a successful and Happy New Year to ALL of our families.

Theresa

P.S. I spent some time yesterday scanning in all of the photos of the girls from the October photo shoot. I'll add some of my favorites today since they will be so out of date by the time I get back to regularly posting to the blog. Enjoy.

Thanks so much for letting us know you are okay and showing your beautiful daughter's faces. I know this must be very hard and a lot of pressure, but feel sure that you will come out on top and that a window will open for you.

I am another reader who you don't know but whao has enjoyed your Blog so much and have been concerned about you. I am the single mum to a beautiful Chinese girl and would have loved to have gone for a little sister - so I envy you your 2 girls. In Australia where I live the crash has not impacted so much- we are not in recession -yet- but it must be so worrying for you all. My thoughts are with you and DO post from time to time- will keep "checking in" occasionally.
