The Packing Saga -- The FINAL Chapter

I’m packed. WHEW!!!!

Unfortunately, I think the top knuckle of my right index finger has a permanent dent in it from zipping my overstuffed suitcase shut. In fact, it took me almost an hour last night (off and on) to slowly get the zipper to close – tooth by zipper tooth, inch by inch. Halfway through, Zo Peep sat on the case to help compress the contents. By the end of this ordeal, I was sitting on the case, Zo Peep was sitting in my lap and her stuffed puppy Penguin was sitting in her lap to all lend support (and weight) to shut the damn thing.

But we succeeded.

I also have about ¾ of the carry on diaper bag packed. I only have to add my China paperwork (yes, MORE paperwork – it never ends!), my cameras (still and video) and associated chargers, cables, etc. and some snacks. I’ll finish that one tonight – I don’t think I have to worry about re-injuring my finger because I have oodles of room. And then I’m done.

Anything that isn’t in those 2 bags either doesn’t need to be with me or can probably be purchased in China


This is also the day that the Family reinforcements are arriving. My sister A is flying in from the Lone Star State to travel to China with me.

Another Sister M is arriving late tonight. She will be staying with Zo Peep for the duration. M is planning make-up sessions and movies and exciting events for the Peep. Zo Peep is so excited. She has the treasure hunt that I've created, PLUS Aunt M events, PLUS special emails from me every day from China. I hope her excitement continues and she doesn't become sad before I leave.


I know that I'll have trouble holding back the tears when I leave my First born on Friday morning.


But I have to remember that I'm soooo close to holding my baby Libby Doodle Doo.


If we all wish REALLY hard, can Friday get here any faster!!!
