One Week Anniversary

One week ago today I first looked into the lovely eyes of my Libby Doodle Doo. Honestly, it seems longer than that. Perhaps so much time seems to have passed because the last week has been a whirlwind of activity as we get prepared to welcome her into our home. She has already been welcomed into our hearts and into our lives.

I travel to Philadelphia on Saturday for a pre-travel meeting. At this meeting I will personally meet all of the families who will travel with me. I'll also meet the other families at my agency who are travelling to another province. We should get some information about timing for our travel at this meeting, but I'm not sure if we'll get the final date. At Little Zo Peep's meeting back in Mar 2003 we found out that we would be travelling sometime in the month of April -- but no more detail than that. I'm still holding out hope that we can get to China in December.

I am also hoping to use frequent flier miles for my travels to and from China. I have enough miles to get 2 business class tickets. I took Coach during my first trip. It was ok going over (I was so hyped up on excitement and anticipation) -- but a nightmare coming back with a baby in my lap. I was in a center seat between two business men --who probably still recount that flight as the worst they had ever taken. Business Class seats won't guarantee that Libby Doodle Doo will be calm and quiet on our trip, but it will eliminate some of the hassle factors of flying Coach for 14+ hours. I called the airline and confirmed that it may be possible -- but it is very dependent on WHEN I need the tickets (due to blackout dates etc.). So I can't book anything until I know when we'll travel.

Update -- I just received word from my agency that we should plan to BUY our airline tickets. I'll have to discuss it with them on Saturday -- I don't want to force the issue of using FF miles if it may jeaporadize my entire group's travel.

Plus their note said that kids cannot come to the travel meeting. I had planned to take Little Zo Peep so that she would feel part of the process. Now I have to cut this post short and go and hustle to find a babysitter for Saturday.

Oh, the joys of single momhood.
